The 2001 Baz Luhrmann film, Moulin Rouge gained nominations at the 74th Academy Awards, grossing nearly $180 million worldwide. This beloved musical film about romance and tragedy stayed in our hearts and is now a hit jukebox musical performed worldwide. Of course, the Duke doesn't like the situation and threatens that he won't invest in the theater after all, and threatens Christian's life if he doesn't leave Satine alone.
