“An energetically woven story, songs, visuals and exciting performances into a can’t-stop-the-music tidal wave!” – Newark Star-Ledger
SYNOPSIS
They were just four blue-collar guys from Jersey – the wrong side of the tracks, to be precise. When they sang together, they produced a sound that nobody has ever heard before, the radio absolutely adored, and the world fell in love with quickly.
Following a documentary-style plot, with each member of the Four Seasons telling the gritty tale from their perspective, Jersey Boys delves into spring, as Tommy DeVito tells about the early days of petty crime, searching for the most appropriate band name, and meeting Frankie Valli. Bob Gaudio tells the summer-part of the tale – when he joined, wrote chart-topping hits that would go on to become some of the most popular in the world, and eventually securing a record deal. Autumn is covered by Nick Massi, sharing details about the band at their peak, the sudden wealth that came with it, paying debts to mobs, and relationships falling apart, while Frankie Valli, as the winter-section, tells about the final breakup and his successful solo-career.
Throughout, the production is underlined by faithfully recreated performances of Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons’ most iconic hits – from Big Girls Don’t Cry and Oh What a Night to Walk Like a Man and Beggin’; from Sherry and You’re the Apple of My Eye to Can’t Take My Eyes Off You and Working My Way Back To You – and in our opinion, you’ll leave the venue thinking oh what a night!
“The songs – and you may be amazed to realize how many hits there were, from the early ‘60s on – all flawlessly delivered.” – The Journal News
CREATIVE TEAM
When creating Jersey Boys, book writers Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice really went on a journey of discovery, unearthing, and capturing – to perfection. Oozing with instantly recognizable songs and some of the world’s most adored hits, Jersey Boys employs a traditional documentary-style narrative, drawn from interviews with the surviving members of the Four Seasons.
Breathing life into the tale going from rags to riches and back to rags, and onto triumph, is a world-renowned visionary creatives comprising the talents of the original Broadway creative team, with award-winning director Des McAnuff (Big River, The Who’s Tommy, Jesus Christ Superstar, Summer: The Donna Summer Musical, Ain’t Too Proud – The Life and Times of The Temptations) at the helm. The creative team also includes choreographer Sergio Trujillo, musical supervisor, arranger and composer Ron Melrose, scenic designer Klara Zieglerova, costume designer Jess Goldstein, lighting designer Howell Binkley, sound designer Steve Canyon Kennedy, projection designer Michael Clark, hair and wig designer Charles Lapointe, fight director Steve Rankin, orchestrator Steve Orich, music coordinator John Miller, and music director Noah Turner.

CAST
It’s a widely known fact that Jersey Boys requires a highly skilled quartet that doesn’t only possess the vocal chops to recreate the Four Seasons’ dynamic vocal arrangements, but also boasts the perfect blend, electrifying energy, chemistry – and even the iconic nasal falsetto of the lead character. As regular theatregoers and trained practitioners, we believe that these are extremely challenging roles – and the cast of the new North American 20th anniversary tour has it down to a tee!
Audiences can expect to enjoy and indulge in the mind-blowing talents of Luke Baker as Frankie Valli, Carlo Boumouglbay as Tommy DeVito, Lewis Kennedy as Nick Massi, Toby Miles as Bob Gaudio, Aiden Carson as Joey Pesci, Artemis Chrisoulakis as Francine, Sydnie Hocknell as Mary Delgado, Michael Levi as Bob Crewe, Olivia Mitchell as Lorraine, Jarryd Nurden as Hank Majewski, Oliver Tester as Norm Waxman, Damien Winchester as Barry Belson, and Fed Zanni as Gyp Decarlo, among others.
“Jersey Boys stars a bunch of talented unknowns who are making the most of their big break. They, and the show, are a knockout.” – Broadway.com
HISTORY & LEGACY
After one of the original Four Seasons members Bob Gaudio, with the support of Frankie Valli, were looking into capturing the band’s tale in a musical in the early 2000s, Bob Gaudio went ahead to hire writers Rick Elice and Marshall Brickman, who, drawing from interviews with the surviving members of the band, created a spectacular book documenting Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons’ tale of what came before fame and fortune. In Tommy DeVito’s own words: “Don’t listen to those guys. I’ll tell you what really happened.”
Letting it all out in the open, Jersey Boys premiered at the La Jolla Playhouse at University of California, San Diego, in October 2004. From there, and following a massive success, the production moved to the August Wilson Theatre on Broadway, where it had its premiere in November 2005. After a massive 4,642 performances, Jersey Boys closed on Broadway in 2017, as one of Broadway’s biggest and most successful smash-hit jukebox musicals, becoming a treasure in the trove of American musical theatre.
To date, Jersey Boys has racked up no less than four Tony Awards, including Best Musical, two Drama Desk Awards, a Grammy Award, and a Laurence Olivier Award.
