Beauty and The Beast at Hollywood Pantages Theatre

Disney's Beauty and the Beast North American Tour (30th Anniversary Production)

Beauty and The Beast, the musical, premiered on Broadway way back in 1994. There's no reason to lie about this, it was forgotten because of the success of the Lion King. Over the years, there have been different attempts to take the story back into the mainstream theater scene. After an amazing run in London's West End, and an extensive tour of Australia, this new version is currently on a US tour. This 30th Anniversary Production, known as Disney's Beauty and the Beast North American Tour, is stopping in cities across the continent. One of the stops just so happens to be in Los Angeles, California on Saturday 15th August 2026, with showtimes at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM.

In other versions of the play, the backgrounds and the tone of the costumes were both kind of dark. This put a lot of emphasis on The Beast character. This new version is going in a completely different direction. The emphasis is more on Belle, as it should've always been. This time around, the audience is greeted with beautifully designed sets and bright costumes that burst off the stage. When you combine that with the jolly soundtrack, you begin to see why both the British and Australian audiences loved this revival. Forgive the spoilers, but the bright entrance that Belle's character and the different members of her French village make, provide the ideal counterpart to The Beast's world. What happened in both the UK and Australia was that crowds were incredibly engaged by this point in the show. Things likely won't be any different this Saturday at Hollywood Pantages Theatre and the entire US tour for that matter. Gaston's entrance and musical solo tend to be loved by fans, and Broadway veteran Stephen Mark Lukas brings his charm and swagger to the role. It's actually Belle that the story revolves around though, and for this US Tour they've picked a great actress for the role—Kyra Belle Johnson, who previously toured in Mamma Mia! Joining them are Fergie L. Philippe as Beast (Broadway's Hamilton), Danny Gardner as Lumiere, and Kathy Voytko as Mrs. Potts. By the end of the night, you'll be singing and dancing as you walk out of Hollywood Pantages Theatre.

At these plays, it's essential to choose the right seats. They are going to dictate the view that you have of what's taking place on stage.
