In this fictional history, viewers will live through 2 ½ hours of engrossing character-driven chronicles backed with the music of this century’s most celebrated recording artist.

Set in Duluth, Minnesota during the Great Depression, the story revolves on a rundown guesthouse kept by the Laine family. It follows the intertwining fates of the wayward travelers that come across it, from the quietly rageful Nick Laine to the morphine-addicted physician Dr. Walker. Sins will surface, and inner demons will wake. Against the oppressive gloom of a devastated nation, can the light of hope pierce through?

The musical employs the book and direction by Tony Award-nominated director Conor McPherson. It showcases a magnificent score from Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bob Dylan with twenty hand-selected tunes, which include classics such as "Hurricane" and "License to Kill."

Titled after Dylan’s quintessential folk hit, Girl from the North Country debuted in 2017, performing at The Old Vic before transferring to West End London. The limited run was a great success, clinching three wins at the Laurence Olivier Awards.

The musical then reached an American audience at the Public Theatre, New York, in late 2018. Here, it won an acclaimed Outstanding New Off-Broadway Musical from the Outer Critics Circle Awards. In 2019, the show finally played on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre. Despite the abrupt cancellation because of the coronavirus pandemic, it was nominated seven times at the Tony Awards, winning Best Orchestrations for Hale’s work.
